Ardnavaha comprises some 40
acres of land, including about eight acres of gardens. The
rest is in pasture for grazing and hay. We are lucky to have
an abundance of wildlife, you will see various species of
birds; there are ducks and often swans on the lake and you
will often see herons fishing.
We are delighted to inform that
our gardens are included in the West Cork Garden Trail. The
two large Monterey Pines by the Croquet Lawn are possibly a
pair of the oldest trees in Munster, and our Rhododendron
Shrubbery is said to be nearly 100 years old. There are two
walks down to the lake, and you are welcome to walk or picnic
in the grounds. The gardens are being improved all the time,
and we apologize for the slightly “wild” look but
rush to explain that they are not 'Formal' planted gardens
but more somewhere to come and 'chill' or even let the kids
run around.
